cloud computing
overview
What is Cloud services?
Cloud services refer to any technology that allows users to access computing resources, such as servers, storage, software, and databases, over the internet. Cloud services have become increasingly popular in recent years because they allow users to access a wide range of computing resources without having to invest in expensive hardware or software.
There are three main categories of cloud services:
- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): This is the most basic level of cloud service, which provides virtualized computing resources such as servers, storage, and networking. IaaS allows users to rent computing resources on a pay-per-use basis, without having to purchase and maintain physical hardware.
- Platform as a Service (PaaS): PaaS is a cloud service that provides a platform for users to develop, test, and deploy applications. PaaS typically includes a range of development tools, frameworks, and middleware, as well as hosting and database services.
- Software as a Service (SaaS): SaaS is a cloud service that provides access to software applications over the internet. SaaS applications are typically accessed through a web browser or mobile app, and users pay a subscription fee to access the software.
Some common examples of cloud services include Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Salesforce, and Dropbox. These services offer a range of cloud computing resources, such as virtual servers, storage, and databases, as well as a variety of SaaS applications, such as email, document management, and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
